Why headlines are the real problem

An article list is made of headlines and summaries — exactly where a newsroom puts the most striking piece of information. For a match or an episode, that striking piece is precisely the one you wanted to find out for yourself.

Unsubscribing from the sports section or from entertainment sites works, but it is expensive: you lose everything else with it. Filtering at the article level, and only when a sensitive term shows up, keeps the source and removes the harm.

How Feedrion's spoiler blocking works

You save terms: a team, a competition, a show. Feedrion matches each article's headline and summary against that list, and hides what matches behind a badge instead of deleting it.

The distinction matters: the article is not lost, it is put in an envelope. Once you have watched the match, one tap opens it. Nothing was erased behind your back, and you keep control over when the information reaches you.

The masking applies on the watch and on the Windows client too: a saved term belongs to the account, not to the device.

What it does not do

The filter works on the text a feed publishes — headline and summary. A cover image showing the scoreboard, or a headline that dodges your terms, will get through: no keyword filter can honestly claim otherwise. In practice, a handful of well-chosen terms covers most of it.

A free account allows one term, which covers a single show or a single competition. Premium sets no limit.

Setting up your terms

1. Open Feedrion's Spoilers screen.
2. Add the terms you would rather not run into — the team, the competition or the show.
3. Matching articles now appear hidden behind a badge across all your lists.
4. Tap the badge when you are ready: the article opens as usual.

Spoiler blocking does not cut you off from your sources — it only moves when they get to speak to you.
